OTDL – Organization of Rope Access Technicians was established in 2009 at the initiative of several work at height specialists using rope access methods. OTDL brings together employees and entrepreneurs using rope access to improve safety at work, develop new rules for work at height and to develop work ethics. What is more, the organization, based on the legislation in force in Poland (labour code, EU regulations, directives), has developed guidelines for work at height and a training system to ensure safe and reliable transfer of the necessary knowledge to work at height. The OTDL certificate is widely recognized in over a dozen EU member states.

Duration: 5 days, including 1 day for the exam

Certificate validity: 3 years from the date of issue

Requirements:

The candidate should be at least 18 years old

9

Candidates should demonstrate psycho-physical predispositions to perform work at height

9

Candidates cannot have contraindications to perform work at height

Contraindications:

Heart disease / Chest pain or diabetes

9

High blood pressure

9

Epilepsy, syncope

9

Fear of heights, dizziness

9

Balance disorder

9

Damage to limb functionality

9

Mental disorders

Level 1:

Rope Access Technician – Person at this level is capable of performing rope access works under the supervision of a person with level 3 qualification.

Level 2:

Rope Access Specialist – Person at this level has full knowledge and skills to perform work using rope access techniques. He participates in rescue operations under the supervision of Level 3 Technician.

To qualify for Level 2 training, the candidate must have min. 12 month experience and min. 1000 hours of work done as a technician with OTDL qualifications at level 1 documented in the worklog.

Level 3:

Rope Access Technician – Supervisor – The person at this level is responsible for preparing the work plan, risk assessment and rescue action, takes full responsibility for subordinates and the performance of work. Demonstrates practical and theoretical knowledge from all three levels.

To qualify for Level 3 training, the candidate must have min. 12 month experience and min. 1000 hours of work done as a technician with OTDL qualifications at level 2 documented in the worklog and also must hold a current first aid certificate.
